Since giving birth, I have encountered a new challenge - my child's sleeping problems. At night, I often have difficulty sleeping due to the need to nurse or attend to my crying child. As a mother, it is difficult to find enough time to rest well, greatly affecting the quality of sleep. Sometimes, staying up late to take care of my child also puts a burden on my liver if it continues for a prolonged period.

The liver is one of the largest internal organs in the human body, responsible for producing and breaking down various substances in the body. When the metabolic function of the liver is impaired, toxins and waste accumulate in the body, causing damage to the skin and making it appear dull and tired. Therefore, as one of the most vital organs in the human body, we must take good care of it!



Today, I would like to share with you how I usually take care of my liver:

As a mother, long-term sleep deprivation can lead to impaired liver function and affect the liver's metabolic ability. Therefore, I focus on my diet and consume more liver-protecting foods and drinks to take care of my liver.


1.Liver-protecting foods


-Goji berries
I usually soak goji berries in water and drink them, as it is helpful in anti-ageing, protecting liver cells, and promoting vision.



-Liver-protecting fruits
Eat more fruits rich in vitamins such as kiwi, citrus, etc., especially those high in vitamin E and vitamin C, which have significant effects on maintaining liver cells, preventing constipation, and promoting detoxifying enzyme activity in the liver, contributing to liver health.



- High-protein foods

Walnuts are high in Omega-3 fatty acids, as well as high concentrations of L-arginine and glutathione, which have a protective effect on liver health and can reduce the risk of fatty liver. Additionally, nuts are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, which can help lower blood lipid and cholesterol levels, easing the burden on the liver. They are also rich in vitamin E, magnesium, and antioxidants, which can reduce oxidative stress on the liver and help protect liver cells. A 2019 study showed that a diet with a higher intake of nuts can reduce the risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.



- Green foods
Green foods include vegetables, fruits, and herbs, among others, which provide significant benefits for liver protection mainly due to their rich nutrients and antioxidants. They can promote the metabolism of harmful substances in the body, reduce liver damage, and promote liver cell regeneration. Some green foods, such as bitter melon and onion, have diuretic and detoxifying effects, speeding up the excretion of harmful substances in the body and relieving the burden on the liver.

-Water
I drink at least 1.5-2 liters of water every day. Drinking plenty of water not only helps to eliminate waste, enhance blood circulation, and promote metabolism but also reduces the damage of metabolic products and toxins to the liver.



2. Avoiding foods that harm the liver

To protect liver health, one should avoid consuming foods that can harm the liver, such as alcoholic beverages (a primary cause of fatty liver and other liver diseases, excessive alcohol consumption can damage the liver), fried foods (high cholesterol is one of the major causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver and fatty liver disease), high-sugar foods (high blood sugar can increase the accumulation of fat in the liver), refined starch foods (lack fiber and are more likely to raise blood sugar levels than whole grains), and high-salt foods (sodium intake should be limited to less than 2400 milligrams per day, excessive salt intake can cause excessive body water).


* Additional tips:


Staying up late can cause damage to the liver, preventing many toxins and melanin from being expelled from the body, resulting in dull and lackluster skin. I take 1-2 capsules of GLOWHITE every day, which contain chitosan oligosaccharides that have the function of repairing cells. Based on liver protection principles, it resolves the underlying causes of melanin formation in the body, achieving a fundamental whitening effect. Another ingredient, silymarin, enhances liver metabolism and detoxification capabilities, rebuilding damaged liver cells.
